Kalyan arrived at Dunn as ninth head of school in 2021. Prior to Dunn, he was the Director of Teaching and Learning at the Athenian School. Kalyan sits on the Board of Standards for the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS). He founded and co-leads the Inclusion Dashboard Consortium. He is the recipient of the Eukel Trust Teacher Award in 2017 and A Better Chance Scholar (ABC) Educator award in 2016.

Dunn School is a 6 - 12 coed boarding school in the heart of Santa Ynez Valley. Serving 250 students outside of Santa Barbara, California, Dunn focuses on educating the whole student to their fullest potential in preparation for a life of learning and responsible leadership in society.
